In the graph below it can be seen that tonnages recycled have more than tripled from 492 T in 2001 to 1728 T in 2005. These tonnages may seem low compared to the tonnages sold on the market, but several factors have to be taken into account :

• PVC flooring is a long life product (between 10 and 20 years)
• PVC flooring is lightweight and very easy to dispose for consumer in the main garbage. PVC flooring is then diluted into the waste.
• PVC flooring is a marginal waste stream (less than 0.1% of waste in public landfill as several collection tests in Germany and the Netherlands showed), most often handled by local waste operator (public and private)
